Tattoos- Empowering body art or an act of resistance? 

Tattoos and piercings still have a bit of a punk reputation but they've slowly transformed into a type of contemporary art. In the early days tattoos were a very strong symbol of social status and not necessarily in the very best way. Nowadays it seems that women are more determined to get inked as an act of building up feminism and rejecting stereotypes. In the end it is all about embracing who you are and expressing yourself in the best way.
